PM Modi termed the note ban as the biggest cleanliness drive against 'Blank Money' taken by his government. Addressing the Indian diaspora in Japan, PM Modi said he was aware of the difficulty people were facing back home after the scrapping Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,000 notes, but emphasised that it was necessary in the larger interests of the nation.
